How we started
Our law firm was started in the early 1950’s in Germany by Mr. Walter O’Haire, an American attorney who had worked as part of the Allied Forces' prosecution team during the trials before the International Military Tribunal following World War II. Please see our history page for the background and history of our law firm.
Who we are
We are an American law firm based in Miami, Florida, U.S.A. We maintain contact points in Frankfurt, Germany, and in Brussels, Belgium, so that our clients in Europe can communicate with us easily. We represent a large number of European clients regarding various issues arising under U.S. law.
Since 2007, the firm has been managed by Melissa R. Ferrari, Attorney at Law. Ms. Ferrari is a member of The Florida Bar, is board certified in International Law by The Florida Bar, and is also a Florida Civil Law Notary. Ms. Ferrari serves on the International Law Certification Committee of The Florida Bar, currently as its co-chair. Prior to studying law at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, Ms. Ferrari received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Florida and, thereafter, became licensed as a Registered Nurse.

How we work
We only consult on matters of U.S. law.
Sometimes, though, in the course of our consultation, we determine that the legal advice and assistance needed is not based on U.S. law. If we find that to be the case, we often work with other attorneys in other countries in order to make sure that our client’s legal needs are properly taken care of. We have a large network of attorneys with whom we work.
We are committed to professionalism, excellence, and innovation. We utilize modern technology to increase efficiency and reduce overhead, resulting in savings for our clients in our attempt to achieve the best possible outcome for each client.
We are flexible, offering our clients fee arrangement options tailored to individual circumstances including, when appropriate, contingency fees (meaning if you don't win, you do not pay any attorneys' fees) or fixed fees.
Because we are an American law firm and we practice only U.S. law, O’Haire & Fiore provides legal support to our clients using a teamwork approach, common for U.S. law firms, based upon each client's individual needs. Many different people may be working on a particular legal matter including an attorney, a paralegal (legal assistant), and a secretary.
