Claims regarding defective medical devices, pharmaceutical products and hazardous products
O'Haire and Fiore represents many European claimants with problems stemming from medical devices, drugs and hazardous products, such as asbestos. Often, the products were manufactured in the United States and distributed to other countries, harming our clients.
Claims related to silicone breast implants manufactured by Dow Corning Corporation
O'Haire & Fiore has, since 1994, represented a large number of claimants who have been implanted with silicone breast implants. Many of the proceedings involving U.S. manufacturers have already been closed. These include 'class actions' involving breast implants manufactured by Bristol, Baxter, 3M, Mentor, Bioplasty and Cox Uphoff.
Claimants whose breast implants were manufactured by the Dow Corning Corporation, in some circumstances, may still pursue claims within the framework of the settlement plan approved by the Court in Dow Corning's bankruptcy reorganization proceeding. The Settlement Facility - Dow Corning Trust, SF-DCT, will accept and review claims until June 3, 2019, assuming a claimant timely registered in the bankruptcy proceeding.
O'Haire & Fiore attorney, Melissa R. Ferrari, has been named by the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Michigan Southern Division as 'Foreign Claimant Liaison Counsel to the Claimants' Advisory Counsel' with reference to the Dow Corning proceedings.
